With the end of 2024 approaching, the number of celebrity breakups this year has kept climbing. So far, 36 famous couples have called it quits.

In 2023, no less than 45 celebrity duos ended their relationships—from Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn to Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner. While Swift quickly found happiness with new beau Travis Kelce, others like Jonas (as you’ll see below) haven’t been as fortunate.

From “Bennifer”—a.k.a. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez—to musicians such as Harry Styles, Cardi B, and Zach Bryan, here are all of the stars left looking for a new match in 2024.

October: Channing Tatum and Zoë Kravitz

People reported on October 29 that Magic Mike star Channing Tatum and Zoë Kravitz called off their engagement and separated after three years of dating. The two had worked together on the 2024 thriller movie Blink Twice, with Kravitz serving as director.

October: Sutton Foster and Ted Griffin

According to Page Six, Foster—who starred in The Music Man on Broadway with Hugh Jackman from December 2021 to January 2023—filed for “uncontested divorce” from Griffin in New York County Supreme Court after 10 years of marriage.

October: Zach Bryan and Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia

On October 22, country singer Zach Bryan took to his Instagram Stories to confirm his split from social media star Brianna LaPaglia. “Addressing something: Brianna and me have broken up with each other and I respect and love her with every ounce of my heart,” he wrote in part, before admitting he’s had “an incredibly hard year” and asking fans to respect his ex’s privacy.

Sources close to the situation also told Page Six, “Zach and Bri were crazy about each other, but their relationship was always rocky.”

October: Dr. Kate Tomas and Andrew Garfield

Dr. Kate Tomas confirmed her split from We Live in Time star Andrew Garfield via Instagram after a fan asked about their relationship status of her October 11 post. “We broke up months ago but I’m sure he will be happy to know that he is loved 🥰❤️,” she replied in the comments section, firmly letting everyone know the two were no longer romantically linked.

October: Jason Tartick and Kat Stickler

Tartick confirmed news of the split on Instagram, saying, “I am sad to share that Kat and I are no longer together. It’s fair to say that I love hard with all my heart and fall fast. Sometimes in life that works out and other times, it doesn’t. This time it didn’t.”

Meanwhile, Stickler said “A lot of you have already guessed, and yes, Jason and I have broken up. It was amicable. It just didn’t work. I don’t want to talk about it. Just wanted to tell you.”

October: Lupita Nyong’o and Joshua Jackson

Less than a year after relationship rumors started circulating around them, Lupita Nyong’o seemingly confirmed her split from Jackson during an interview with Harper’s Bazaar UK. “My love for my cat is singular,” she told the publication of her orange tabby, which she adopted in October 2023, the same month she was first spotted with the Dawson's Creek alum. “If I’m ever so lucky to be in a romantic relationship again, it’ll be because of him. I was ready to shut that door and lock it and bolt it. He has ensured that my heart remains open.”

October: Halle Bailey and DDG

According to DDG’s Instagram Stories, he and The Little Mermaid star Halle Bailey have called it quits. The rapper and content creator wrote, “After much reflection and heartfelt conversations, Halle and I have decided to go our separate ways. The decision was not easy, but we believe it’s the best part forward for both of us. I cherish the time we’ve spent together and the love we shared.”

September: Victoria Monét and John Gaines

The Grammy-winning musician and fitness trainer shared a joint statement on social media revealing they decided to part ways 10 months prior. “We both just have some fundamental growing to do that would be best done apart so we can remain the best versions of ourselves for our daughter,” the post said, in part. “It simply didn’t work out and that’s okay. We still think the world of each other and operate with love in every interaction for our family.”

August: Justin Glaze and Susie Evans

The Bachelorette and The Bachelor alums Glaze and Evans split after less than a year of dating, with Justin explaining on the Almost Famous podcast, “We still have a ton of love for each other. We’re on great terms. We still talk and are in communication.”

August: Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck

On August 20 after two years of marriage, Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from actor Ben Affleck “pro per” (meaning by herself and without an attorney). An insider at the time revealed to People that the Atlas star “tried really hard to make things work and is heartbroken. The kids are a top priority, as they always have been.”

August: Cardi B and Offset

Cardi B and Offset once again split up. Page Six reported that Cardi B filed for divorce, and a source told the outlet, “They’ve grown apart. That’s what drove her to this decision more than anything else. This is something she wants to do.”

July: Christina Hall and Josh Hall

Christina, the 41-year-old star of HGTV’s Christina on the Coast, and Josh filed for divorce after less than three years of marriage. But according to People, they “had issues in the marriage for quite some time.”

July: Madelyn Cline and Pete Davidson

In July, an insider revealed that Madelyn Cline and Pete Davidson’s relationship had “fizzled out” after almost a year of dating. “They ended things fairly recently, and I understand it was amicable,” the source dished to The Sun.

July: Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet

Per the Associated Press, Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet’s divorce was finalized on July 9 when a Los Angeles County judge’s dissolution of the marriage took effect. The pair were together for 12 years before they tied the knot in 2017. Court docs list their separation date as October 7, 2020, although they made their separation public in 2022.

June: Joe Jonas and Stormi Bree

According to Entertainment Tonight, Jonas and actor and singer Stormi Bree “ended their relationship” in June after four months together.

Jonas was previously married to actor Sophie Turner from May 2019 through September 2023.

May: Taylor Russell and Harry Styles

Actor Taylor Russell and former One Direction member Harry Styles dated for 14 months prior to their split in May. According to The Sun, the pair took a “make-or-break” trip to Tokyo in April 2024 and called it quits the following month.An insider told the UK-based outlet, “He’s been in America and she’s been in London. They made a lovely couple and it was obvious Taylor made Harry happy. Things have become strained recently though and they’ve taken some time out.”

May: Britney Spears and Sam Asghari

Pop star Britney Spears and Sam Asghari filed for divorce in August 2023. According to TMZ, the former couple filed a Stipulated Judgment, which left Sam with “essentially nothing.” As for Britney, “There isn’t much aside from jewelry and personal effects...as well as any earnings she raked in before and during their marriage, thanks to the trusty prenup.” The divorce papers were approved by a judge in May.

May: Bethenny Frankel and Paul Bernon

The Real Housewives of New York alum Frankel and her fiancé Paul Bernon ended their engagement after being together for six years, according to Us Weekly. A mutual friend of the former couple told the outlet that “it just wasn’t going to work” between them. “They are so different—he’s an under-the-radar kind of guy,” the source added.

April: Christine Quinn and Christian Dumontet

Christian Dumontet filed for divorce from former Selling Sunset star Christine Quinn due to “irreconcilable differences,” according to an April 5 report from TMZ. Per the court docs, Christian requested full legal and physical custody of their 2-year-old son, Christian, with Christine being allowed “child visitation.” He also asked a judge to “terminate” spousal support for Christine and allegedly filed a restraining order against her after she filed one against him.

April: Ryan Seacrest and Aubrey Paige

On TV host Ryan Seacrest’s split from model Aubrey Paige, a source told People, “After three beautiful years together, Ryan and Aubrey have mutually decided to part ways. They plan to stay in each other’s lives as good friends and support one another’s endeavors.”
