Seeing the movie Priscilla two years ago made me realize how much I actually didn’t know about Priscilla Presley’s life. That said, I’m delighted that the public figure has decided to release her own memoir, retelling key events on her own accord.

'Softly, As I Leave You: Life After Elvis' by Priscilla Presley

Titled Softly, As I Leave You: Life After Elvis, Presley’s new memoir was released this Tuesday, September 23. It goes into all of the hard-hitting details about everything you want to know and more. Yes, you can expect her to touch on the infidelities of it all (on both Elvis’ and Priscilla’s parts), her opinions on Lisa Marie’s marriage to Michael Jackson, and even the infamous “hitman” ploy that Elvis came up with against Priscilla’s karate instructor lover.

There’s obviously more that gets touched on, which is exciting for long-time followers of the Presley family (as well as for the general nosy folk like me). You can purchase the book at major retailers, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and others. Amazon just happens to have the hardcover on sale (already) for 30% off at $22.38. You can also buy the e-book for your Kindle, the paperback, and the audiobook on Amazon narrated by Presley herself, and prepare for a deep dive into one of the most famous women—and marriages, and legacies—in music history.
