Gordon Ramsay has built a successful career as a chef, restauranteur, and TV host, but despite his busy schedule, he’s also created a large, tight-knit family.
The 59-year-old has six children with his wife, Tana Ramsay, who he married in 1996. Their kids have a 25-year age gap between the oldest and youngest, born in 1998 and 2023, respectively.
Despite being known for his brash personality and fiery temper on Hell’s Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares, Ramsay has described himself as a “softie” when it comes to being a father. “The kids have brought the most emotion out of me,” he previously told People magazine in September 2023.
Now, Netflix docuseries Being Gordon Ramsay offers a behind-the-scenes look into the celebrity chef’s family life, showing how he manages to juggle fatherhood and his TV empire as he prepares to open a major culinary venue in London’s second tallest building, 22 Bishopsgate.
Here’s what you should know about Gordon Ramsay’s family.
Tana Ramsay
Tana first met Gordon at a New Year’s Eve party in the early 1990s, though she was in a relationship at the time. She later reconnected with him at a mutual friend’s apartment and the couple soon tied the knot in December 1996.
The 51-year-old, originally from South London, worked as a Montessori teacher until the birth of their first child, Megan, in 1998. She went on to author several cookbooks, including Tana Ramsay’s Family Kitchen (2006), Tana Ramsay’s Real Family Food (2007), Tana’s Kitchen Secrets (2010), and I Love to Bake (2011).
She’s also made appearances on Hell’s Kitchen and MasterChef and hosted UKTV’s Market Kitchen.
Megan Ramsay
Gordon’s oldest daughter, Megan Ramsay, 27, was born in May 1998. The first of the family to graduate college, Megan studied psychology at Oxford Brookes University, where she graduated in 2019.
Instead of following in her parents’ footsteps, she carved out her own career path, becoming a police officer. However, Megan did still appear in an episode of Hell’s Kitchen, in which contestants competed to prepare the perfect menu for her birthday party.
Holly Anna Ramsay
Born in December 1999 a fraternal twin, Holly Ramsay, 26, wears many different hats. Holly briefly attended Ravensbourne University London to study fashion design but dropped out after she was assaulted.
Her experiences with PTSD and depression moved her to become a mental health advocate and launch the podcast 21 & Over with Holly Ramsay in 2021. Holly has also worked as a model, and she married Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty in December 2025.
Jack Scott Ramsay
Jack (Holly’s twin), 26, is Gordon’s oldest son. A natural athlete, Jack grew up playing rugby and water polo and later ran the London Marathon in 2019. That same year, he appeared in the reality series Born Famous, during which he briefly lived in a working-class environment, the same way his father did before he became famous.
In 2020, Jack graduated from Exeter University and joined the UK’s Royal Marines.
Tilly Ramsay
Mathilda “Tilly” Ramsay, 24, is the most public-facing Ramsay child. Tilly, who was born in November 2001, started cooking at a young age and was eager to get involved in her father’s work. She appeared with Gordon on Hell’s Kitchen and starred in cooking show Mathilda and the Ramsay Bunch, along with other family members.
In 2023, Tilly appeared as a judge on MasterChef Junior: Home for the Holidays before coming back for MasterChef Junior Season 9 the following year. After graduating both college and culinary school, she hosted her own cooking show, Dish It Out, in 2025, where chefs have to create a dish from a mystery box of ingredients.
Oscar James and Jesse James Ramsay
The two newest members of the Ramsay clan are much younger than their siblings. Oscar James Ramsay, 6, is Gordon and Tana’s “rainbow baby.” He was born in April 2019—just a few years after the couple suffered a late miscarriage. Oscar keeps busy with school and sports, and frequently visits his father on set.
The youngest, 2-year-old Jesse James Ramsay, joined the family in November 2023. He shares a birthday was his sister, Tilly.

The new Netflix docuseries Being Gordon Ramsay gives a rare look into the chef’s family and personal life. “I wanted to show the other side, the other half of me and I don't think that's been done properly,” Ramsay told People. “I’m getting up to speed with how feisty Tilly is … And then there's sort of real life drama that's unfolding with the pressure of those two young boys and putting this mammoth business in the sky together.”
Being Gordon Ramsay begins streaming on Netflix February 18.
