Even since she released her 2023 breakout hit “Tennessee Orange,” Megan Moroney has been on a steady ascent to country stardom. Moroney, who recently announced her third album Cloud 9, is up for six CMA Award nominations this year, tying with Lainey Wilson and Ella Langley for most nominated artist.

But the country singer wasn't always interested in pursuing a career in music. In fact, it wasn't until she entered a college beauty pageant that she began to perform in public.
