On December 1, 1955, Rosa Parks made history when she refused to give up her bus seat in Montgomery, Alabama. The civil rights icon's act of defiance ignited a mass protest that eventually ended segregated busing in the city, but it also led to longterm personal and financial hardship.

In this special episode of I Never Knew That, editor Catherine commemorates the 70th anniversary of Parks' arrest and delves into the struggles she and her family endured because of it.
