LeBron James is no stranger to making history. This time, however, it’s for something his fans might not expect from the NBA all-star. The world-renowned power forward and Team USA Olympic gold-medalist is also now the first pro male athlete to partner with Barbie and get a doll out of it.

Mattel Inc. has created a new Barbie line called the “Kenbassadors,” featuring a slew of trailblazers and notable figures that have created a long-lasting impact in their respective fields. James’s doll will be the first of the series, bringing the campaign to a strong start.

James’s Kenbassador doll was made to replicate his personal style. The package will include a miniature replica of the athlete, sporting a blue and white “LJ” letterman jacket with his number 23 on the right sleeve, black and white plaid pants, matching blue and white Nike Dunks, and more accessories.

“As a young kid, I was fortunate to have role models who not only inspired me but also showed me what’s possible through hard work and dedication,” James said in a statement.

“Now, as an adult, I understand how vital it is for young people to have positive figures to look up to. That’s why partnering with Barbie to release the LeBron James Kenbassadors doll is such an honor. It’s an opportunity to recognize the powerful impact of role models who instill confidence, inspire dreams, and show kids that they, too, can achieve greatness,” he clarified.

In a video featured on the Associated Press, fans got a glimpse of James’s first reaction to the doll. His response was both wholesome and comical, as he called the doll “dope” over and over. He then put an “I Promise” wristband on the doll’s wrist.

“OK, now we ready,” James said. “I mean, he might need to do a little lifting. Legs look a little skinny. Little fraily little fellow. Nah, that’s dope.”

To find and shop the LeBron James Kenbassador Barbie doll, you’ll want to keep a look out starting Monday, April 14. This is when it will become available at Target, Amazon, Walmart and Mattel Creations. The retail price, for now, is $75.
