Selena Gomez is a rare beauty. Thanks to her many upcoming projects, the Only Murders in the Building actress has pulled out some serious looks lately that have left fans stunned. She first sported casual wear featuring a pair of Dolce Vita sneakers, then went full-glam for back-to-back movie and television premieres, galas, award shows, and more. One of her most recent and utterly gorgeous looks features an Alaïa gown for the Academy Museum Gala 2024.
The singer went with a matte and slightly smokey-eyed look, which, of course, featured products from her successful makeup brand. According to Rare Beauty’s Instagram post, Gomez shimmered in the $20 Stay Vulnerable Glossy Lip Balm in a nearly neutral shade.
Available on Sephora, this soft neutral pink is a cream formula that offers light coverage and a satin finish that’s hydrating and long-lasting. It’s offered in four other colors ranging from nearly apricot to nearly berry that leave a sleek shimmer. Gomez’s makeup artist, Hung Vanngo, first used the $20 Kind Words Matte Lipstick in shade fun (a neutral mauve) to coat the lips and then opted for the $15 Kind Words Lip Liner in shade wise (a warm brown nude) to outline the lips. The finishing touch was the glossy lip balm to add an effervescent shine.
Although normally a fan of a neutral lip, Gomez went a bit bolder ahead of Halloween. The Wizards Beyond Waverly Place star and her beau, music producer and songwriter Benny Blanco dressed up as Alice and Wonderland and the Mad Hatter. For this costume, Gomez reached for a bright red — we think it looks pretty similar to Rare Beauty’s Kind Words Matt Lipstick, paired up with the Kind Words Lip Liner in the shade devoted. She then finished off the costume with Sezane Paula Babies heels, which sell for $215, in Ecru/Black.
