Country music star Lainey Wilson has been in a relationship with her husband, former NFL football player Devlin “Duck” Hodges, for five years. As of May 2026, they are officially married, with the couple exchanging vows at picturesque Ruskin Cave in Dickson, Tennessee.

Wilson and Hodges met through mutual friends in 2021 just as her music career was taking off in Nashville.

“I was so broke when we met,” the 33-year-old singer said in her Netflix documentary Lainey Wilson: Keepin’ Country Cool, which is now streaming. “And he thought I was doing a little bit better than I was. But a few weeks after we met, my sister had to Venmo me a couple hundred bucks.”

Soon after, Wilson and Hodges began dating, keeping their relationship private for more than two years before going public with their romance. Their first appearance together was at the Academy of Country Music Awards in May 2023. Wilson later told People she wanted to see if the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback was “in it for the right reasons.”

Hodges, 30, retired from football in 2022 and currently works as a real estate agent. “He knows what it’s like chasing a dream because he’s done that for himself,” Wilson said on the radio show The Bobby Bones Show. “But I’ll tell you, he is good as gold. Supports me, would never come in between anything that I’m trying to do. He’s like, ‘Go get it, girl.’”

After four years of dating, Wilson and Hodges got engaged in February 2025. Hodges got down on one knee on the steps of singer George Jones’s mansion, which the couple had long talked about visiting. “As we pull up, I realized that there were different plans,” Wilson recalled to NewsChannel 5 Nashville. “So he had it all set up. He had the candles and the picture frames, and it was, it could not have been more perfect.” Hodges even designed her a custom engagement ring, combining aspects of other rings Wilson told him she liked.

Just over a year later, Wilson and Hodges tied the knot in a private ceremony near a Tennessee waterfall in May 2026. Wilson told Vogue that she arrived at the wedding via “white horse-drawn carriage” and was escorted down the aisle by her father while sporting a glamorous dress designed by Oscar de la Renta. “I have never seen Duck smile as big as he did then,” she said. “It made me feel giddy about turning the page into this next chapter of marriage. We were both anxious to say ‘I do!’”

Wilson shares more details about her relationship and personal life, as well as her 14-year journey toward country music stardom, in the documentary Keepin’ Country Cool.

How to Watch Keepin’ Country Cool on Netflix

Directed by Amy Scott, Lainey Wilson: Keepin’ Country Cool follows the Grammy winner’s rise to country music success.

I couldn’t be more excited that this documentary is going to be on Netflix,” Wilson said. “This was such a special project to make, and I hope that folks who watch it see that no dream is too big and that staying true to who you are will always lead you exactly where you’re meant to be.” The documentary is now streaming on Netflix.
