Kurt Russell was born March 17, 1951 in Springfield, Massachusetts. A child performer, he appeared in a number of television and film roles before deciding to play professional baseball. After an injury he returned to the screen in a television film Elvis, and had his first feature role in Escape From New York. Later films include Backdraft,
Stargate, Soldier, Dark Blue and Poseidon.

After an injury he returned to the screen in a television film Elvis (1979), and had his first feature role in Escape From New York (1981). Later films include Backdraft (1991), Stargate (1994), Soldier (1998), Dark Blue (2003), and Poseidon (2006).
In 1987, Russell starred opposite his long-time partner Goldie Hawn in the movie Overboard. He was previously married to Season Hubley and they have one son together. Hawn and Russell have a son Wyatt.
