Hubert de Givenchy, born in 1927, is a French fashion designer. In 1952, he opened his own fashion house and he and Cristobal Balenciaga introduced the "sack" silhouette. His pieces worn by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's popularize his high-bosomed dress without sleeves or a belt. His 1960s ready-to-wear boutiques brought high fashion at low prices to fashionably aspiring women.
