Career Highlights

Actress Angeline Brown was born on September 30, 1931 in Kulm, North Dakota. After her family moved to California when she was eleven, Angie began entering and winning beauty pageants. She attended Bellamarine Jefferson High in Burbank and then Glendale College and Immaculate Heart College. After she married her college sweetheart, Gene Dickinson, she officially became Angie Dickinson.

As a national beauty pageant contestant, Dickinson made the rounds on television and eventually started to receive small acting parts. Her breakthrough role came in Howard Hawks?? Rio Bravo and was followed by such feature films as Sabrina, Point Blank and The Killers.

When her film career slowed in the 1970s, she reinvented herself as the star of the hit television adventure series Police Woman, which ran for four seasons. Since then, she has appeared infrequently in films, including small rolls in 2000??s Pay It Forward with Kevin Spacey and Helen Hunt, and 2001??s Big Bad Love and Ocean's Eleven.

Dickinson was married to composer Burt Bacharach from 1966 to 1980.
