Born on November 18, 1931, in Havana, Cuba, chemical engineer Roberto Goizueta left his home country in 1960 with his family and worked his way up the ranks of the Coca-Cola Company, becoming CEO in 1981. He created huge shareholder returns, launched Diet Coke (along with the far less popular New Coke) and acquired Columbia Pictures with a no-holds-barred approach. He died on October 18, 1997.
