Robert Frank is a Swiss photographer who is best known his photography collection The Americans, the introduction of which was written by Jack Kerouac.


Swiss photographer and filmmaker Robert Frank grew up under the World War II threat of Nazism. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1947 and pursued photography. He is best known for his photography collection The Americans. Initially published in Paris, the book faced significant criticism upon it's U.S. publication. It is now considered a seminal work in American photography and art history.
