Reinhard Heydrich was a high-ranking German Nazi official and one of the main architects of the Holocaust. In 1939 he ordered the arrest of thousands of Jews by the Gestapo and their imprisonment in concentration camps. He was attacked in 1942 by agents who had been sent to assassinate him. He escaped but died soon after from the injuries.
