Born Patsy Louise Neal in Packard, Kentucky, on January 20, 1926, actress Patricia Neal is best known for her performances in Hud, The Day The Earth Stood Still and Breakfast at Tiffany's. Warner Brothers offered her a contract in 1948 which launched her career as a film actress. Neal met Roald Dahl in 1951 and the couple married in 1953; they had five children together. While shooting Seven Women (1966), Neal suffered a stroke that left her right side paralyzed. She made a remarkable recovery, and later received an Oscar nomination for The Subject Was Roses. Neal died in Edgarton, Massachusetts, on August 8, 2010.
