Photographer (1953–)
Photographer Nan Goldin captured a world of sexuality, violence and addiction in her slideshow and book, The Ballad of Sexual Dependency (1981).


Born September 12, 1953, Nan Goldin left home at age 13. She joined a group of alienated young people involved with drugs, sex and violence, which she documented in photographs taken during the late 1970s. This work became her slideshow and book The Ballad of Sexual Dependency (1981). Goldin also produced Tokyo Love: Spring Fever 1994 and The Family of Nan, 1990-92..
