Lawrence Summers served as chief economist of World Bank, secretary of the U.S. Treasury, Harvard president and director of the National Economic Council.


Lawrence Summers was born November 30, 1954 in New Haven, Connecticut. He served as the chief economist of the World Bank (1991–1993), secretary of the U.S. Treasury (1999–2001), and president of Harvard University (2001–2006). From 2009 he was director of the National Economic Council in the administration of Pres. Barack Obama.
