Jamie Lynn-Sigler is an American actress best known for her role as Meadow Soprano on the HBO series The Sopranos.


Born on Long Island in 1981, Jamie Lynn-Sigler is an American actress and singer best known for her role as Meadow Soprano on the HBO series The Sopranos. She began her career as a child performer in musicals and was chosen for the role of a lifetime in the dramatic television series, The Sopranos, as a teenager. Sigler has battled anorexia and established a foundation to help others.


Actress, singer, and author. Born on May 15, 1981, in Jericho, New York. Sigler began her career in the theater as a child performer in several regional productions of such well-known musicals as Annie and The Sound of Music. While in her teens, she won the role of a lifetime: Meadow Soprano, a gangster's daughter, on the dramatic series, The Sopranos.

But before the first season of The Sopranos aired, Sigler battled anorexia, an eating disorder. Fortunately, she got treatment and has used her experience with the disease to try to help others. She has worked with the National Eating Disorders Association as a spokesperson and established the Jamie-Lynn Sigler Foundation to help others with eating disorders and raise awareness about these potentially life-threatening problems. In 2002, she shared her story with the world in her memoir, Wise Girl, which earned positive reviews. She continues to speak to groups about her experiences and the dangers of eating disorders.

Overcoming her personal challenges, Sigler managed to turn in a superb performance in her first season as Meadow Soprano - a normal teenager growing up in unusual circumstances. She received the 1999 Hollywood Reporter Young Star Award for Young Actress/Performance in a Drama TV Series. The next year Sigler and the rest of the cast won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.

While on the series, Sigler found time to return to the stage and pursue a music career. She starred in a 2001 national tour of Cinderella with Eartha Kitt and made her Broadway debut the next year as Belle in Beauty and the Beast. In 2001, she released her first album, Here to Heaven, which contained several songs sung in Spanish, reflecting her Cuban heritage.

Appearing in her first film, A Brooklyn State of Mind, in 1997, Sigler has made several movies during breaks during the filming of The Sopranos. Most recently, she starred in the horror film Dark Ride (2006), the thriller I Remember (2006), and the independent comedy Homie Spumoni, which was screened at the 2006 Boston Film Festival. In 2007, Sigler starred in the dramatic comedy New York City Serenade. Since then, the actress has appeared in a number of popular television series including How I Met Your Mother, Entourage, Ugly Betty, Drop Dead Diva, Last Man Standing, Dads and Guys with Kids, as well as several TV movies.

Sigler married manager A. J. DiScala in 2003, but the couple separated two years later. Sigler told People magazine in 2006 that the split was amicable. In January 2016, she tied the knot with baseball player Cutter Dykstra, son of former Met outfielder Lenny Dykstra.
