
Hume Cronyn Biography
Synopsis
Actor Hume Cronyn was born in Ontario, Canada, on July 18, 1911. Ths son of an Ontario politician, Cronyn made it to Broadway in 1934 in the production Three Men on a Horse. That was his first of several collaborations with director George Abbott. He then went on to make his film debut in Alfred Hitchcock's Shadow of a Doubt (1943). In 1942, Cronyn married actress Jessica Tandy, who he co-starred with in the film The Green Years (1946), among many others. Cronyn died on June 15, 2003.
