Photographer Harry Callahan became famous for his innovative and unconventional perspectives on everyday objects and scenes.


Born in Detroit in 1912, photographer Harry Callahan became famous during the 20th century for his unconventional perspective on everyday objects and scenes. During his career he headed photography departments at the Chicago Institute of Design and the Rhode Island School of Design. He received the National Medal of the Arts in 1997 for his work.
