Felipe Calderón Biography

Felipe Calderón is a politician who became president of Mexico in 2006. During his term he passed legislation to reform Mexico's judicial system.


Felipe Calderón was born Aug. 18, 1962, in Morelia, Mexico. He became the National Action Party's secretary-general in 1993. In 1996 he became PAN president. In 2000 the PAN's candidate won the presidential elections, ending 71 years of Institutional Revolutionary Party rule. In 2005 Calderón won the PAN presidential candidacy and was soon after elected president of Mexico.
