Andrea Palladio was an influential Classical Italian architect in the 1500s.


Andrea Palladio was born on November 30, 1508 in Padua, Venice. He studied mathematics, music and philosophy. From 1541, he made trips to Rome to study ancient ruins. His first palace design was the influenced by the Roman forum. Palladio villas re-created the Roman model based on ancient descriptions. His Four Books of Architecture was extremely influential. Palladio died in 1580.
