Anaïs Nin was a writer of diaries and novels known for their explicit eroticism. She had a famous affair with writer Henry Miller.


Anaïs Nin was born on February 21, 1903 in Neuilly, France. Daughter of the Cuban composer Joaquín Nin, she began her literary career in Paris and moved to New York in the 1940s. She won late recognition with the publication of the first volume of her diaries. Her account of an incestuous relationship with her father was published posthumously. She died in 1977.
