The album, Smokey & Friends, revisits some timeless tunes from his expansive catalog and features collaborations with artists such as James Taylor, Elton John, Mary J. Blige, Sheryl Crow, John Legend, CeeLo Green and others. He even rocks out with Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler on their duet version of “You Really Got A Hold On Me.” The new album is produced by Randy Jackson, music producer and American Idol mentor.

Robinson got his musical start at Motown Records, which was founded in 1959 by Berry Gordy Jr. With his velvety voice and soulful performances, he was one of the first artists to sign. The rest, as they say, is history.
