Things are not looking up for troubled ex-baseball player Manny Ramirez. The former major leaguer was arrested at his home in Weston, Florida, on a a charge of domestic battery. The police arrived at Ramirez's home after his wife, Juliana Ramirez, called 911. She said she was in bed when her husband hit her in the face and head. Ramirez, 39, was released on $2,500 bail Tuesday after spending the night in Broward County Jail. He could spend up to a year in prison if convicted of misdemeanor domestic battery charges. It's not Ramirez' first brush with the law, unfortunately for the ex-slugger. He retired from baseball earlier this year after testing positive for performance-enhacing drugs. Ramirez was the 2004 World Series MVP, and many baseball critics think his record would have put him in the Baseball Hall of Fame, had it not been for his use of banned substances.
