The curse of the 27 club is a theory that comes from the deaths of several very famous musicians who died at age 27, including Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, and most recently, Amy Winehouse. A new study, though, finds that it's more myth than fact. Australian researchers compiled a list of more than 1,000 artists who had hits over the past 50 years, and found that there's an unfounded fixation on the year 27.
