Good music is in the ear of the beholder. In honor of African-American Music Appreciation Month, let's take a look at two celebrities that have made spellbinding music behind a keyboard. Singer and pianist Billy Preston basically went straight from the womb to the keyboard, having started taking piano lessons at age 3. Seven years later, the little entertainer was so good that he played the keyboard for Mahalia Jackson. He went on to work with Ray Charles and went on to work with The Beatles—some even referred to him as The Fifth Beatle!
His lookalike Craig Robinson may be known for his comedic chops now, but he bombed in front of crowds during his earlier stand-up acts until he showed off his skills behind a keyboard. Robinson's silky musical comedy numbers were so popular that he created the stage act L. Witherspoon & Chunky (he was Chunky) with fellow comedian Jerry Minor. From there, Robinson's comedic career hit notes even higher than his '90s influenced ballads, with roles in The Office (2005) and This Is The End (2013).
