That's right folks, Weiner's at it again! ...Or at the very least he was at it again. After former U.S. Congressman Anthony Weiner faded into the darkness following what could be the most pun-heavy scandal of all time, he's recently tried to make a comeback in a big way: running for New York City mayor. Although some polls have reported he's the current frontrunner, his comeback just recently hit a potentially huge snag. Just this week Weiner announced that his 2011 sexting scandal didn't end after he resigned. Looks like the former congressman's reputation as the bad boy of politics—a la social media—didn't get a full reboot when he left office. One thing's for sure, his lookalike Wild Bill Hickok wouldn't have stood for this tomfoolery, although you have to admit the two men do have one big thing in common: delightfully funny last names. Here are some other things they share.
Famed gunslinger Wild Bill Hickok was elected as constable of Monticello in Johnson County in Kansas and was appointed a sheriff and marshal down the line. Weiner was elected to seats in the City Council for New York City—the youngest person to hold a seat there in its history—and in the U.S. House of Representatives. Both men fell from grace after starting their promising careers—Hickok accidentally shot a deputy in an 1871 shootout, and Weiner sent salacious photos to six women over three years, which we all found out about (accidentally). Lastly, both of these men had women who stood by them through the good times and the bad, with Hickok dating frontierswoman Calamity Jane and Weiner sticking with his wife Huma Abedin.
