Ty Pennington

He is an unlikely celebrity. Ty Pennington suffered from attention deficit disorder as a child, but worked his way through college as a carpenter, earning a degree in graphic design and taking classes in painting and sculpture. His big break came when he was discovered by a modeling agency talent scout. He appeared in ads and then became host of TV's Trading Spaces. His charisma and skill as a designer and carpenter wowed fans and caught ABC's eye when it was looking for a host for Extreme Makeover. Today the carpenter from Georgia is a TV star and the spokesman for Sears, and has his own line of Ty Pennington Style Products.
