Episode Description
Sarah Palin's family moved to Alaska from Sandpoint, Idaho, when she was three months old. Known as "Sarah Barracuda" for her intense play during her days on the state champion girls' basketball team in Wasilla, Alaska, she later competed in a different arena, finishing runner-up in the 1984 Miss Alaska contest. It is, however, in the politics where Palin earned a national reputation. Knocking off seated governor Frank Murkowski in the 2006 Republican gubernatorial primary, Palin went on to beat former Democratic governor Tony Knowles in the general election. Married to her high school sweetheart, Todd Palin, and a mother of five, she took the national stage as John McCain's running mate in the 2008 Presidential Election.
