Episode Description
Since forming in 1981, San Francisco Bay Area band Metallica has gone from an underground heavy metal band to one of the most successful groups in the world. Their breakout album was Metallica (otherwise known as the Black Album.) Released in 1991, it was a huge hit that brought Metallica worldwide success. They were universally hailed as the band that brought Metal to the mainstream. But Metallica's journey wasn't always easy. The band has faced serious blows along the way including infighting in the group, alcohol addiction, and the tragic death of one of their own. They have persevered through it all and their success can be directly attributed to a passion and no-compromise attitude in every project they undertake. With their ninth studio album, Death Magnetic on the shelves, Metallica shows no signs of slowing down.
