Heath Ledger

An Oscar nominated actor whose untimely death at the age of 28 shocked his many fans worldwide. Heath Ledger first became popular on Australian television in the 1990s before coming to Hollywood where he starred in increasingly high profile films including The Patriot with Mel Gibson, Monster's Ball with Halle Berry, and Brokeback Mountain. At the time of his death, Ledger had completed shooting the role of The Joker in the latest installment of the Batman series, The Dark Knight, and was working on Terry Gilliam's The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. A noted heartthrob, he leaves behind a young daughter from his marriage to Brokeback Mountain co-star Michelle Williams.
