Episode Description
Dr. Harry Howard Holmes was forever immortalized in Chicago's dark history and was the primary topic of the best selling non-fiction book, The Devil in the White City. As Chicago planned and executed it's designs for the 1893 World's Fair, Holmes planned out his murders within his Chicago hotel and executed his victims in grisly fashion. Holmes built his "Murder Castle" with meticulous detail, allowing him to suffocate victims within airtight rooms at his own discretion, and listen to their cries for help from the comfort of his office. Holmes would even sell the skeletons of his victims through his medical school contacts. His Murder Castle was eventually raided by the police and he was put on trail. Officially he was charged with 27 murders, however using missing persons records at the time that number could be as high as 230.
