Episode Description
Rock and Roll Hall of Famer inductee Blondie emerged from the burgeoning New York punk/New Wave scene of the mid-70's to take the world by storm. Deborah Harry became the sexy and glamorous face of the band which from scored hits with Heart of Glass, Call Me, One Way or Another, Tide Is High and Rapture. The success lasted for a few short years before the group's fortunes declined due to infighting, mounting drug use and the life threatening illness to founding member and Harry's long-time companion Chris Stein. Harry gave up the spot light to nurse Stein for several years changing the configuration of the group while it defended itself from accusations of "selling out" its punk roots to the disco craze. As a rock and roll story, though, Blondie has it all: luck, timing, love, talent, excess, drugs and, finally, redemption.
