Wolfe Tone biography

Wolfe Tone was born on June 20, 1763, in Dublin Ireland. In 1791 he helped found the Society of United Irishmen, for parliamentary reforms. In Dublin in 1792, he organized a convention of elected delegates that forced Parliament to pass the Catholic Relief Act of 1793. By 1794, Tone and the United Irishmen began to unsuccessfully seek armed aid from Revolutionary France to help overthrow English rule.
