Will Rogers was an entertainer known for his folksy charm and witty one-liners. He started out in Wild West shows and eventually made his way to Broadway and films.
Will Rogers worked in varied Wild West shows in the U.S. and overseas, and in 1905 he displayed his roping skills at a horse show at Madison Square Garden. This led to his acting career, which started on Broadway (The Wall Street Girl) and ended in films (In Old Kentucky, A Connecticut Yankee). Rogers was known for his folksy wisdom and one-liners that playfully poked fun at just about everything.
