Titus was a born in Rome in the year 39 A. The elder son of Vespasian, he was a well-respected military commander before replacing his father as Roman Emperor. He served Rome for just two years (79–81), before dying of a fever. His works while in office included completing the Colosseum, responding to the Mount Vesuvius eruption of 79 and taking care of his people after a fire in Rome in 80.
