Tim Urban biography

Synopsis

U.S. singer Tim Urban was home schooled by his mother and played guitar as a teen, focusing mostly on Christian music. He joined the Actors, Talent and Models for Christ (AMTC) talent agency, performing in hotels and restaurants. In 2009, he audition for American Idol and was the seventh place finalist on the ninth season of the show. His first album, Heart of Me, debuted in 2010.

Singer. Born May 1, 1989, in Duncanville, Texas, to parents David and Doris Urban. A family with a strong religious background, the Urbans raised their children in the Christian faith. Tim and his nine siblings were all homeschooled by their mother.

Tim began singing and playing the guitar at the age of 13, focusing mainly on Christian music. He joined the Actors, Talent and Models for Christ (AMTC) talent agency, performed in hotels and restaurants, and played the Christian music circuit with his band.

Urban audition for American Idol in 2009, and made it into the top 24 contestants on the ninth season of the show. (He replaced musician Chris Golightly as a finalist after Golightly was considered ineligible for competition.) Urban was in the top 10 finalists on the show but was voted out at end the end of the "Idol Gives Back" episode.
