Thomas Campion biography

Profile

Thomas Campion was an English composer who wrote 100 songs for the lute. His early quest for a career was uphill. He studied for four years without earning a degree, then studied law but wasn't called to the bar. He finally received a medical degree, practicing until his death. He is best known musically, but wrote a considerable body of poetry, including "Songs of Divers Noblemen and Gentlemen."
