Sidney Lumet biography

The son of a Yiddish actor, director Sidney Lumet debuted on radio at age four. After serving in the army in World War II, he began directing films. His debut was 1957's Twelve Angry Men, one of his best known films of all time. He made more than 40 films during his career, many of them psychological dramas, including Long Day's Journey into Night, Dog Day Afternoon and Network. He died in 2011.
