Born August 7, 1987 in Nova Scotia, Sidney Crosby is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. He began playing at a young age, learning to skate when he was three. After success throughout high school and a strong junior career, he was drafted first overall pick to the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2005. He was selected captain in 2007, making history as the youngest captain of a National Hockey League team at just 20 years old. The same year he was awarded the Art Ross Trophy for scoring 120 points in 79 games. In 2010 he helped the Canadian men's hockey team win gold at the Winter Olympic Games.
