Synopsis

Sam Huntington got his start in theater at an early age, performing in youth productions at his mother’s children’s theater, The Black Box. In 1997, he appeared on the big screen opposite Tim Allen in Jungle to Jungle. As Huntington grew up, he became something of a boyish teen heartthrob. His big break came in 2006, playing Clark Kent’s innocent sidekick, Jimmy Olsen, in Superman Returns.

Early Life

Actor Sam Huntington was born on April 1, 1982, in Peterborough, New Hampshire. The son of a cabinetmaker and an actress, Sam Huntington got his start in theater at an early age. He performed in several youth productions, including performances at his mother's childrens theater, The Black Box. His professional career began as a member of the prestigious Peterborough Players, where he was cast in several major productions, including To Kill a Mockingbird.

At age 13, Sam Huntington and his mother moved to New York City where he attended the Professional Children's School and landed several television commercials. In 1997, he appeared on the big screen opposite Tim Allen in Jungle to Jungle, the first of a three-picture contract with Walt Disney Company.

Big Break

As Sam Huntington grew up, he became something of a boyish teen heartthrob by appearing in such high-school fare as 2001's Not Another Teen Movie, 2003's Rolling Kansas and 2004's Sleepover. His big break came in 2006, playing Clark Kent's sweet and innocent sidekick, Jimmy Olsen, in Bryan Singer's much anticipated Superman Returns.

Huntington married his longtime girlfriend, actress Rachel Klein, in 2006.
