Ronald Colman was born on February 9, 1891 in Richmond, Surrey, England. Shortly after launching his stage career, he was called to fight in WWI and was wounded by shrapnel. His first film starring role was in The White Sister (1923). He later teamed with actress Vilma Banky in several films and he won an Academy Award for his role in the 1947 film A Double Life. Colman died in 1958.
