Film and television actor Robert Wagner played juvenile leads in a succession of war, Western, and adventure films, such as The True Story of Jesse James. His greatest popularity has been in television series, where his boyish romantic appeal, suave manner, and light humor were seen in a number of television shows. In 1999 he appeared in the film Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me.

His greatest popularity has been in television series, where his boyish romantic appeal, suave manner, and light humour were seen in It Takes A Thief (1965–9), Switch (1975–7), and Hart to Hart (1979–84), in which he co-starred with Stefanie Powers (1942– ). In 1999 he appeared in the film Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me.
