Robert II biography
Profile
Born in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland, on March 2, 1316, Robert II was the King of Scotland from 1371 to 1390, and is best known for his largely ineffectual reign. He succeeded to the throne at the age of 55, and has been described by historians as a timid and indecisive man who had little impact on Scottish political and military affairs. Richard II had 15 children—more than any other Scottish king. He died on April 19, 1390, in Dundonald Castle, Ayrshire, Scotland, and was interred at Scone Abbey in Scone, Perthshire, Scotland.
