American actor Robert Duvall has been in some of the most acclaimed films of all time, including To Kill A Mockingbird, M*A*S*H, Lonesome Dove and The Godfather I and II. Many of his performances are based on military men, most popular of which is Lieutenant Colonel Kilgore in Apocalypse Now. Duvall was awarded a National Medal of Arts by President George W. Bush in 2005.
