Plácido Domingo is a Spanish-Mexican tenor and conductor best known for his powerful and versatile voice. Both of Domingo's parents were singers in Spain and Domingo began his study of music on the piano but when the power of his voice was revealed he became a singer. He made his debut at the New York City Opera in 1965 and has since won 11 Grammy Awards, performed around the world.
