Italian-American Phil Rizzuto was an American Major League Baseball shortstop who spent his 13 year athletic career playing for the New York Yankees. He was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1994 and later became a radio and television sports announcer for the Yankees, well-known by his trademark expression, "Holy cow!" and his stream-of-consciousness commentary.
