Norman Borlaug biography

Norman Borlaug was born on March 25, 1914, in Cresco, Iowa. He graduated with a Ph.D. in plant pathology from the University of Minnesota in 1941. He went on to study genetic mutation in plants at the Rockefeller Foundation's Cooperative Mexican Agricultural Program in Mexico. His work helped start the Green Revolution and earned him a Presidential Medal of Freedom and the Congressional Gold Medal.
