Synopsis
Born on August 20, 1982, Mijain Lopez won the men's Greco-Roman title, in the 120-kilogram weight division, at the World Wrestling Championships in 2007, and went on to compete at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. Lopez, Cuba's flagbearer for the opening ceremony of the 2008 Olympics, won a gold medal for wrestling there.

Cuban wrestler Mijain Lopez was born on August 20, 1982. In 2007, he competed at the World Wrestling Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan, and won the men's Greco-Roman title, in the 120-kilogram weight division.
Lopez went on to compete at the 2008 Summer Olympics, held in Beijing, China. Lopez was Cuba's flagbearer for the opening ceremony of the 2008 Olympics, where he won a gold medal for men's wrestling. Lopez is slated to defend his wrestling title in the 2012 Summer Olympics.
